Hip Fung Store was selling homemade delicacies like Yau Gok (油角) and fried sesame balls (煎堆) in the 1950s. They also housed a rice milling machine that saved farmers long trips to Yuen Long. Store owner Mr. Yuen, one of the founders of the Tung Chung Vegetable Marketing Organisation, was also the father of muralist Yuen Wing-keung. Mrs. Yuan continued to run the store after her husband’s death until 2010. Today, the space has been transformed into a hair salon, adorned with mural paintings.
